Jeff Coen is a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law and has worked in Dallas area family law as a solo practitioner and as a family court judge for 33 years. Judge Coen is currently a full time mediator and arbitrator having mediated and arbitrated more than 400 cases since leaving the bench in 2007. He is a Family Law Specialist and certified in mediation training.

Judge Coen is active in the community and currently serves on the board of Dallas CASA. He is a board member and secretary of HobbyCrafters Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization making wooden toys for underprivileged children where he is also the "chief painter". Jeff is a frequent lecturer on family law matters including procedure, evidence, ethics and other issues. He also serves as an expert witness on such issues.
